Dr. “H.O.” Lyne is a second-generation veterinarian. Starting at the age of ten, after school, he would “shadow” his beloved father at his practice. Although he lost his father at a young age, H.O.’s dedication to veterinary medicine remained unwavering.
H.O. graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1998, and he spent the first part of his career at Pasquotank Animal Hospital in Elizabeth City, N.C. The practice was fast-paced and busy but very community oriented, which H.O. has always enjoyed. He and his wife decided they wanted to be closer to their adult daughter in Wilmington. They moved to the Southport/Oak Island area in 2016 after being hired at Oak Island’s sister hospital, Southport Animal Hospital.
In 2021, he moved “across the bridge” to Oak Island Animal Hospital to work with Dr. Flint King. He was honored. Moving into 2022 would prove devastating with Dr. King’s passing. H.O. is determined to do his best to uphold Dr. King’s legacy.
Over the past four years, H.O.’s love for his patients and their families has only grown in this small-knit coastal town. He and his wife, Kimie, live in Oak Island with Remi, their rescue Pomeranian, and little “Roo,” a five-pound Pomeranian full of high octane! Close by in Wilmington live their daughter Brittany, her husband Andy, and their sweet standard poodle Ross. They love exploring all the hidden gems right here at our beautiful coast and spending time with family and friends.
H.O. is a member of NCVMA and AVMA with special training and interests in surgery and specialized diagnostics. He has worked in disaster aid and looks forward to continued training in this area.
